A pre-application meeting is held between a Heritage Victoria Permits Officer and the applicant, prior to lodgment of an Application for a Permit. The purpose of the meeting is to help identify potential design issues and confirm what information is required to be submitted with the application. Pre-application meetings can provide a number of benefits to both a developer and Heritage Victoria.
After the meeting, Heritage Victoria will give you written feedback. This will give you a chance to revise your permit application before you formally lodge it.
Complete the pre-application registration form (DOCX, 160.9 KB).
Any commentary made by Heritage Victoria during a pre-application meeting and in subsequent correspondence should not be interpreted as acceptance or refusal of a proposal. Permit applications are determined following consideration of the application against relevant policies and the criteria of the Heritage Act.
