Architect - Contemporary Design

Architects specialising in contemporary design solutions for heritage buildings including new additions, adaptive reuse schemes and new built form in heritage areas and the integration of new buildings in heritage complexes.  These architects often work in conjunction with conservation architects on projects that involve a significant repair component.

Work undertaken: Master planning, design development, project planning and estimating, documentation and contract administration of building construction work. The preparation of master plans, design options, feasibility studies and other reports.

Criteria: registration as an architect by the Architects Registration Board of Victoria, registration as a building practitioner under the Building Act and not less than three years experience working on new additions to heritage places or new design within a heritage context. The Architects Act limits the use of the title 'architect' and its derivatives to those registered by the Architects Registration Board of Victoria. Practising architects are required to hold professional indemnity insurance.
