01 Jul 09Port Phillip Bay fieldwork

The main aims of the fieldwork were to undertake monitoring work on William Salthouse, Clarence and City of Launceston. These three sites are protected under the Victorian Heritage Act 1995 and all three lie within Protected Zones.

Review of the five Victorian heritage grant schemes in operation since 1994. The objectives of the review are to provide information to develop criteria and priorities for future rounds of the existing grant schemes, shape future grants programs to address the needs of heritage places, including large scale and/or iconic heritage places, or types of owners/guardians of important heritage assets who may have been ineligible or disadvantaged to date.

01 Jan 07M2030 Networked Cities Growth Corridors

A study of 4 regional areas, each about 60-100 km from Melbourne. These have been defined as Networked City Growth Corridors in Melbourne 2030, the Victorian Government's strategy for sustainable metropolitan development. While the corridors are a modern planning construct, they can be seen in terms of common historical development and environmental and political influences.

Galvanised iron is ‘iron coated with zinc to prevent rust’ and ‘such iron formed into corrugated sheets and used for roofing etc, esp. in rural buildings and outhouses.’ This is the text of an article published in The Heritage Advisor, Issue 5 April 2000. Heritage property values are determined by a number of factors. Research studies, both international and domestic, indicate that heritage listing on a macro level, is not a significant factor in determining property value at either the time of listing or following.
