Heritage area studies are inventories of buildings, precincts and other places of aesthetic, architectural, historical, scientific, social or other special importance within a locality of municipality.
Heritage studies identify heritage places and assess and document their importance. A program for the protection of significant places can then be developed. Completed heritage studies can often be found in local libraries or at the offices of a local council.
All listed copies can be found at Infralib, the Department of Transport’s (DOT) Library. All studies will have a call number e.g.711.4099451 HAW:M.
Infralib is located at Level 5, 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. Members of the public welcome. Please note: you must contact the library to arrange a visit. Hard copies of studies can be viewed at Infralib but not borrowed.
