Royal Exhibition Building & Carlton Gardens
The Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens was the first built heritage site in Australia to be declared World Heritage, and is also on the National Heritage List and the Victorian Heritage Register.
The Minister for Planning recently approved the World Heritage Environs Area Strategy Plan which outlines the 'buffer zone' around the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, and details the strategies to be employed to achieve the protection and transmission of the World Heritage values.
